On 17-18 November 2025, the second session of the training course ‘Strengthening Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Specialists for Work in the Humanitarian Sector’ took place in Kyiv. Over two days, participants from different regions of Ukraine worked on mastering modern approaches to ensuring mental well-being and developing psychosocial resilience in the context of humanitarian activities. The aim of the training was not only to strengthen the professional competencies of mental health specialists, but also to develop their ability to effectively disseminate the knowledge they have acquired through teaching, seminars and training sessions. Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University was represented by Nadiya SABAT, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Social Work of the Faculty of Education, and a third-level (educational and scientific) PhD candidate in the field of 015 Vocational Education (specialisations) Nazar HALIY (supervisor – Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Galina MYKHAILISHIN).
The training became a platform for the exchange of experience between specialists in the educational and humanitarian spheres. Its topic is particularly relevant for higher education institutions in Ukraine, as it is teachers and specialists from university psychological services who play a key role in shaping a culture of mental health among students.
The training not only expanded professional tools, but also became a space for personal growth, rethinking one’s role in the field of psychosocial support and strengthening motivation to work on the development of a culture of mental health in the university environment.
