Every year, the Department of Social Pedagogy and Social Work, headed by the head of the department, Roksolana Vasylivna Zozulyak-Slichyk, joins the charity project ‘Saint Nicholas Goes to Orphans,’ which is implemented by the Maltese Aid Service.
This year, second-year students from groups SR-21 and SRSP-22 received a letter from pupils at the Kalush Special School of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council, an institution that teaches children with varying degrees of hearing impairment.
The school has created conditions for comprehensive support: adapted educational programmes, corrective and developmental classes, speech therapists, the use of sign language and special techniques for developing speech and social skills. This approach helps students overcome difficulties in perceiving information, communicate more confidently and move more confidently towards their future.
After learning about the children’s wishes, the students decided to support the schoolchildren: they got together, raised funds and bought gifts to make each child’s little dream come true.
This campaign was an example of sincere support and compassion, and it also united the students around an important goal — to bring joy to those who need it most.
May every child have the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a real holiday.
